Who has the most popular brand on Facebook

Starbucks, the coffee chain, is now the most popular brand on Facebook, with more than 5,1 million fans, per InsideFacebook.com, an independent blog that tracks the social networking site’s developments.

As you can see below, Starbucks saw some significant spikes on 31 October and 7 November, probably due to marketing activities

Starbucks does not fall into the category of run-of-the-mill social media marketing:

  • Starbucks has been giving away free ice cream through its Facebook application
  • They have beennadvertising posters is six cities, asking people to spot them, take photos, and post them on Twitter
  • On Election Day, Starbucks released its Starbucks Vote Commercial on YouTube announcing that coffee would be on them for everyone who voted
