Foster a mindset of continual business improvement
Many businesses aspire to maintain a culture of continuous business improvement. Whatever happened yesterday isn’t good enough for tomorrow, because tomorrow is an opportunity to do it even better.
But how to foster a mindset of continual business improvement? How to push the right buttons and challenge the managers and employees to strive for better efficiency, more creative solutions and new ideas that can impact not just the company but the entire industry?
Business improvement a question of mindset
In many cases business improvement programs fails due to the fact, that the organization’s culture don’t support it – or even worse eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Don’t let the dark side of corporate culture destroy business improvement program. Better deal proactively with them!
That won’t work here … We have always done it that way … That’s the way we do things around here … Doesn’t matter what we say. Nothing will change anyway … That’s not the way we do things around here … We tried that ages ago ….. it didn’t … Don’t boil the ocean
Organizational culture can be a business game changer
Culture creates the foundation for any business improvement programs and will either be a the greatest asset or largest roadblock!
Make sure to involve the entire organization from the start
This kind of involvement tends to reduce employees’ resistance, which is always a very important factor in the success of any organizational change.
Employees may have solutions that the manager won’t even think of, or they’ll be able to point out potential challenges before they become huge roadblocks. They are immersed in the different aspects of your business day-in and day-out, which means they can provide a truly valuable perspective.
When employees are involved in decision-making they are more driven to implement those plans to the best of their abilities
