Organizations must transform their corporate culture

Connecting people to a purpose

Culture and values are the winning components

Organizations must transform their corporate culture in order to become collaborative social businesses. It’s no longer a debate that culture and values are the winning components of the business of tomorrow.

Papa John’s Pizza recently experienced the brand damage that can be caused by one single tweet. That tweet of a photographed receipt containing an ethnic slur spread to millions of people in days. The digital social web has connected us. Social media marketing and digital PR efforts pale next to today’s real-time magnification of behavior no matter where or when it takes place.

Organizations must transform their corporate culture

What this means is that the backbone of social business transformation has to be grounded on behavior change (culture) – not technology, not social media, not process. In order for effective change to become an epidemic, a certain level of trust needs to manifest itself within an organization through behaviors, actions and communication. And trust only gives birth when business leaders not only talk the talk, but walk the walk as well (or, begin to change their behavior).
